Pink-Slip Tea Party
In Schenley Park, yesterday.
An article in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review today:
Almost 300 people rallying Sunday at a Tea Party protest on the sunny slopes of Flagstaff Hill in Schenley Park had their minds on a congressional race in New York state.
“We are putting both parties on notice,” said Betty Boff of Marshall. “We definitely need change, but not the type of change that spends our money and taxes us.”
The event, called the Pink Slip Tea Party, was an effort to tell elected officials — Democrats and Republicans alike — that they have one year to clean up their act or they will be ousted in next year’s elections, organizer Jeff Steigerwalt of Franklin Park said….
Pink slips were handed out to tea party attendees to fill out to send to their representatives in Congress.
“When the midterm elections come around next year, we will evaluate everyone when we walk into the voting booth,” Boff said. “Whoever is listening to our concerns gets our vote.”
